Times are tough, people are losing their homes or losing their jobs and the govt. is helping out the banks and forgetting about the people. It’s a real sticking point with me (sorry). Now with all his going on its pretty obvious what is going to happen tons and tons of people are going to get hits on their credit not because, times are just tough and sometimes it really isn’t fair. But hey credit scores are like every thing they come and go believe me this is from a guy that had 700+ to 500 something and back again so I know.
So here is some helpful advice for you from the guy that’s not a bank or a banker, and got no bail out from the govt. (so I really do try harder). Your credit can make things either affordable or tremendously expensive and if you have bad credit you can fix it. It’s like anything though it does take work and some patience.
Getting your credit fixed you have two options basically one do it yourself or pay to get it done. Its like anything do it yourself is cheaper but lots more work or take the easy way just lot more expensive.
Here is an example on why you want to get it fixed when you are able to
1) Buying a car for 25k at 15% you are talking about paying $10,800.00 in interest alone, thats double compared to someone that has good credit.
So what do you do??? First find out what is on your credit report go to www.annualcreditreport.com its free once a year. It is not uncommon that there can not only items reporting on your credit that belong but reported incorrectly. It is very common for items to appear that do not only belong to you. One of the fastest and growing crimes that is occurring is Identity Theft. When you log into www.annualcreditreport.com you will have to go through a series of questions to prove your identity but hey its FREE. Sometimes free is hard to beat and sometimes you do get what you pay for but at this point in time you have nothing to lose, but can gain peace of mind.
TIP if your last name is Garcia don’t name your kids , jose , or juan ,,, you are just setting them up for credit problems for the rest of their life that goes for if your last name is Martinez or Gomez I think you get the idea, and for the record juniors have a tough time as well.
Once you get a copy of what is on your credit than its up to you to dispute the information there are websites that can help you and can provide you information on how to go about it. One is www.Ifixbadcredit.net you will get tips and ideas the other way is to pay a company to do the work for you it will cost usually a few hundred to get done. There are many other sites just goggle them but do becareful there really are a ton of scams out there.
